Kristina Stamm, LPC

Hello and welcome to my page! I would like to tell you about myself and how I view the counseling process. Making sure my clients have a voice and advocating for their wellbeing is my main goal. Whether you are seeking services for yourself or your child, I hope to be a part of that growth process.

I realized I wanted to become a counselor when I was working on earning my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee in 2018. During this time, I lived in Milwaukee for many years, working at Rogers Behavioral Health and Easter Seals Community and Disability Services. Additionally, I completed a year of national service through an AmeriCorps program, where I served as a mentor and support for elementary aged students. Most recently, I earned my Masters of Science in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2023 and I am certified as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Wisconsin.

I enjoy working with individuals of all ages, and I especially have a passion for working with middle school aged children and elderly folks. I have a great deal of experience with depression, anxiety, identity issues, trauma, and life role changes. My methods of therapy include cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, and relational cultural therapy. I understand the role that society and oppression play in mental health concerns, and I believe it is important to provide a safe space for all cultures to discuss these in a therapeutic setting. My counseling technique focuses on respect, empathy, creativity, empowerment, and collaboration. I work to establish strong therapeutic relationships with all my clients, in hopes that they will learn how to advocate for themselves in their own relationships. I create treatment plans through a trauma focused lens, and I believe each person deserves a nonjudgmental space to tell their story.

When I am not in the counseling seat, I enjoy playing tennis, going to Zumba classes, reading, and watching true crime shows. I love the outdoors and attending local events. For much of my life I worked as a floral designer, and I continue to enjoy working with flowers and plants. I also have fun exploring my artistic side, which I often bring into the counseling space.

I look forward to doing deep and meaningful work with you or your child! I provide in-person services in Oconomowoc, WI and telehealth services for clients with extenuating circumstances.
