Claire Lepien, LPC

Welcome! My name is Claire Lepien and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who views the counseling experience as a safe, compassionate and genuine journey. I strive to remind my clients that they are not alone in this world, and that it is okay not to be okay. A life that says, “I am lost, and I will find my way again” is a life that is worth living. It is a life that allows you to let go of fear, and grasp onto hope.
I received my undergraduate degree from UW- La Crosse, majoring in psychology and minoring in sociology and english literature. I then graduated from UW-Whitewater with a masters in clinical mental health counseling. During my graduate career I spent time working as a residential care specialist at Rogers Behavioral Health where I worked on a residential unit for adolescents with depression/anxiety. I also gained experience interning at New Beginnings in Elkhorn, where I was able to provide counseling services for minors affected by any form of primary or secondary violence (sexual, domestic, family). I have since spent the last three years working as a therapist at Rogers Behavioral Health in their partial/intensive outpatient programs, treating both adolescents and adults with depression, anxiety and mood disorders.
My primary areas of clinical interest and treatment are working with children/adolescents as well as young adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, behavioral concerns, family/relationship dynamics, self-esteem/self-compassion, personal development and life transitions.
I use a variety of clinical interventions and techniques including: CBT, DBT, Person-Centered, Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness, Art/Creative Expression, ACT, and Exposure Therapy. I am currently in the process of becoming certified in Play-Therapy.
With a deep belief in the resilience of the human spirit, I tailor my clinical interventions and modalities to best fit the needs of my individual clients. Through our time working together, my goal is to help my clients build practical coping skills, heal from past hardships and create lasting, adaptive changes in their lives. Whether you are struggling with severe emotional dysregulation or are seeking to improve your sense of self and personal well being, I will offer a non-judgemental space for you to work toward inner healing and self-actualization.
Outside of the counseling chair, I am an avid Burn-Bootcamp member, chai-tea enthusiast and Bulldog mom. My husband is a country musician, so you are sure to find me enjoying live-music with family and friends when I am not taking lake-side walks or getting sucked into my favorite comfort shows, such as Grey’s Anatomy or The Rookie.
I look forward to working with you or your child! Please reach out for a free 15 minute consultation. I provide in-person services in Oconomowoc, WI as well as telehealth services, as requested.
