Audra Hoffman, LMFT
Welcome! I am glad you are here. Please read on to learn a little more about me and if you think we may be a good fit for working together. The connection and trust that develops in the therapeutic relationship is crucially important to your healing and growth.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist providing mental health counseling to teenagers, adults, couples and families. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Family Studies and a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, both from the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
I have worked in the mental health field for over 12 years. I began by working in crisis assessment and intervention. I then began working in community mental health supporting families and high-risk youth. I transitioned to the outpatient clinic setting 6yrs ago. I am the most passionate about the work I currently do, because of the opportunity to come along side people on their journey and really see the growth and healing occur over time.
My primary areas of clinical interest and treatment are depression, anxiety, relationship dynamics, parenting, life cycle transitions, self-growth and personal development. I use a Trauma Informed approach to support the inherent strengths and desired goals for those I work with.
I use a variety of clinical interventions and techniques including: Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Gottman Method, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Mindfulness. My style also includes Person-Centered Therapy, Systemic Therapy/Family Systems Theory, and Psychodynamic Therapy. I recently completed an intensive training with Postpartum Support International, and plan to become certified in perinatal mental health in the future.
Some other things you might like to know about me: I have a true affection for Bravo TV shows and the occasional curse word. I am a wife and mother. I have a golden retriever named, Gus (who may even occasionally join me in the office!). I often use movie lines, song lyrics and pop culture references in my daily jargon. I have a genuine concern for the wellbeing of others and a deep recognition of ripple effect and mutual impact. I believe kindness, compassion and authenticity go a long way in helping others find the answers they have locked inside of them.
Please feel free to reach out for a consultation phone call if you have questions for me.
