Hello! Welcome, and thank you for visiting my profile. I understand that seeking therapy can be a significant and sometimes challenging decision. I believe that establishing a strong, trusting connection between therapist and client is essential for successful healing and personal growth.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over a decade of experience in the mental health field. My journey to becoming a therapist began at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I earned my undergraduate degree in Sociology with a Health Emphasis. As a former collegiate track and field athlete, I developed a deep appreciation for the mind-body connection and its impact on overall wellness. This passion to support others in their own healing process led me to pursue a Master of Science degree in Rehabilitation Psychology, which I completed in 2011.

I received specialized training through an externship at Froedtert and The Medical College of Wisconsin between 2014 and 2015, where I collaborated closely with individuals experiencing acute stress reactions, trauma, PTSD, and chronic pain conditions. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work in various settings, including crisis intervention, inpatient and outpatient care, medical facilities, corrections, and vocational rehabilitation. However, it is in outpatient therapy where I have found my true calling. I cherish the ability to build meaningful connections with clients and to witness the transformative process of healing.

In my practice, I primarily work with individuals experiencing complex trauma, PTSD, mood disorders, anxiety, eating disorders, and trauma-related conditions. I work with children, adolescents, and adults aged ten and older. As a trauma survivor and someone who has been through their own trauma therapy, I believe that our past can have profound impacts on us without us even realizing it (Shapiro, 2012). I believe that exploring our previous wounds sometimes provides insight into ourselves. In exploring and processing our past psychological injuries, we can gain valuable insights into their behaviors, emotions, and thought patterns.

I utilize a variety of evidence-based, trauma-informed therapeutic modalities, including:

  • Brainspotting
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy
  • Somatic Experiencing
  • Polyvagal Theory
    Acceptance and
  • Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) distress tolerance skills

These approaches allow me to tailor treatment to the unique needs of each individual. I also make it a priority to educate my clients about how trauma affects the body, mind, and behaviors, helping them to develop a deeper understanding of their experiences.

As a former collegiate athlete, I am especially attuned to the pressures faced by athletes, particularly those dealing with performance stress, body image issues, and the emotional challenges associated with sports. I find fulfillment in working with athletes to navigate these complex dynamics and to promote overall mental well-being.

Outside of my professional work, you can find me enjoying “window time” (long talks about philosophy and Jungian psychology) with my husband, Mike, throwing some weights around my home gym, reading, cooking new recipes, cheering for the Badgers, and hugging my four weird and hyperactive cats: Addie, Mo, Oliver, Oscar and their little chihuahua friend, Roxy.

I am in-network with most major insurance providers. Please refer to the FAQ page for a complete list of insurance networks.

If you are ready to begin your healing journey, I look forward to working with you. Let us start the process of transformation together.

“Our wounds are often the openings into the best and the most beautiful part of us.”
